SUMMER MEMORIES

Sailboats, driftwood and salty air,
Sandcastles by the sea,
Seagulls drifting on the waves,
Bring back summer memories.

The lighthouse you can see offshore,
Even on foggy days,
Knowing the keeper of the light,
Will guide ships through the haze.

Children playing on the beach,
With buckets and shovels in hand,
Lovers walking by the shore,
Leaving footprints in the sand.

So many gifts the ocean brings,
Left on the beach by the tide,
Sanddollars, starfish, a perfect shell,
In seaweed, a crab can hide.

Breaking waves upon the sand,
Deep blue sunny skies,
So peaceful and quite tranquil,
Looking through my eyes.

The romance of the ocean,
And mysteries of the sea,
Will always be my favorite place,
For summer memories.
